Cemetery
The church cemetery at St. Stephen's is an interesting entity as it is not confined to Anglican burials but has instead functioned as a multi-demoninational burying ground. The earliest stone dates back to 1861 and this predates the construction of the first church by at least a decade. Prior to this time, it was the practice to inter the deceased in private family burying grounds (the Campbell, Smith and Anthony family cemeteries are lasting evidence of this practice).
