Synod 2007

When Synod Delegates were elected at the Parish Annual Meeting for 2006, it was noted these delegates would be in place for the following two years as there was no formal Synod planned for 2007. However, because Bishop Fred was elected to the office of Primate in June 2007 that meant that the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island must elect a new Bishop.

Therefore in October 2007 our Synod Delegates were called to a one-day meeting at the Cathedral Church of All Saints in order to be part of the election for Bishop. At that election the majority of those eligible to vote, both lay and clergy, elected The Right Reverend Sue Moxley to be our Diocesan Bishop.

Our next regular Diocesan Synod will be held in May 2008 during which we will be represented by those delegates elected at our Annual Meeting in February 2007, Jane Wile, Joy Morash, and Helen Powell.
