St. David's & St. James' ACW Annual Report 2008

St. David's and St. James' ACW meets on the third Tuesday of each month, except in July and August.

Eva Harvie represented our group at the ACW annual meeting held in Halifax in April.

We sponsor the Labour Day Supper in September.

During the month of September we did a fund raiser calendar project which was fun and very successful.

One of our members attended the Regional ACW meeting for the Claremont Region which was held in Port Williams in October.

Five blue hymn books were purchased and dedicated on October 26 in memory of Florence Hennigar.

We gave donations to both St. David's and St. James' churches. Fruit baskets were made up and delivered at Christmas time. We still continue to save a loonie a month. In January each member turns in $12.00.

We held silent auctions, bake sales, Bible quizzes, readings and discussions.

We made a donation to the 2008 Diocesan ACW project - "Bursaries for Girls in Belize".

Our year ended with our Christmas meeting and party held at the home of Phyllis Noble.

We are a small group of between five to eight ladies, however, we do enjoy the fellowship time spent together each month.
