St. Paul's Church Wardens' Report 2008

The year 2008 proved to be a very good year for St. Paul's Church. We welcomed a new Priest-in-Charge in January; the Reverend Carson Baxter was appointed by the Bishop for the Parish of Rawdon. We all loved Carson. Because Carson could only be here on alternate Sundays, the Reverend Robert Brush and the Reverend Duanne Tanswell led us in worship on Carson's "off" days (we love them too).

A former member of St. Paul's Church passed away and left a substantial bequest to the church. With this money we have been able to carry out extensive repairs and upgrades. The stained glass window was repairs, as was the steeple. Plexiglass storm windows were installed over the large windows in the nave. This seems to have improved heat retention. A new exit door was installed at the front left of the church; new carpeting was installed in the nave and solar blinds were installed to protect the carpet from sun fading. To show our appreciation to Bell Deal a plaque in memory has been placed on the wall near the new door.

We had two successful "pie days" in the fall. This is a fundraiser to help with costs of fuel, electricity, insurance, etc. for the church. We thank all who came out to help with this project.

In December we welcomed our new Rector, the Reverend Marilyn Lamb. Marilyn is with us on a half-time basis and we look forward to the years ahead with her.

Officers for the coming year are:

Wardens: Ted Haldane and Jane Wile
Treasurer: Ted Haldane
Secretary: Ruth Himmelman
Envelope Secretary: Carolyn Weir
Parish Reps: Jane Wile and Ted Haldane

Respectfully submitted,
Jane Wile
Church Warden
